⚽️ MATCH REPORT U13’s ⚽️

Pollok Utd 10 – 1 Clydebank
Megan x 3
Abby x 2
Hannah x 2
Joanne x 1
Mia x1
Leigha x1

Another great display from the girls against a battling Clydebank who never gave up.
A cautious start with both teams weighing each other up. Until Pollok opened the scoring through Joanne, scoring her first goal of the season, yesss!,a great finish in the box from a corner. Pollok kept up the pressure and soon goals from Abby, Hannah and Megan soon put Pollok at ease. Clydebank being restricted to counter attacks mostly with their no. 3 who was giving Joanne a good game. Leigha and Abby making some great runs with Hannah pulling the strings in midfield (awesome!!) Megan just passing a late fitness test, twisted and turned the ‘Bankies defence. Rosie and Alicia solid at the back. The second half saw Pollok make some changes with Elle making her debut in the U13’s at the back, Shannon coming on in midfield and Mia upfront looking dangerous.Clydebank tightened things up and mounted several attacks. And then goal of the match, Rosie fouling the Clydebank forward, just outside the box (and lucky not to get booked ) up stepped their no.3 and smashed the direct free kick by Alicia off the underside of the bar bounced on the line back up and off the bar again and in. But the Pollok girls kept going forward and the goals came through Mia, Leigha and Megan. The Bankies keeper making several great stops. Shannon playing in midfield very unlucky not to score, hitting the side net and a great shot just wide, so close, and winning several tackles. And wee Elle looking totally at ease at the back, winning the ball and playing some nice passes from the back. She said she was very nervous but it certainly didn’t show, a great display and stayed on for the whole half, well done. Another great display girls so keep up the good work and put in the effort at training and we will keep improving. Thanks to everyone who came to support the girls and enjoyed a great match. Player of the match Megan, struggling with an ear infection on antibiotics and still managed a hat trick, well done.
